Here at last is the video of Take This Thread / Le fil que je suis.

A project that kept us united during this incredible winter! As a bonus: we have contributed to the creation of a new choral work, composed by two women. A rarity, especially in times of pandemic.

Huge thanks to Xavier Brossard-Ménard, our choral director; thanks to our rehearsal pianist Benjamin Kwong, thanks to all the choristers, and a particular thanks to our donors and sponsors from St. Lambert: L’Échoppe des fromages, le Collège Charles-Lemoyne, la Maison Lambert, le Castel, and the City of St. Lambert. This project was made possible thanks to the financial support of the MNA for Laporte, Mme Nicole Ménard, and the Canada Council for the Arts.

A pure product of the confinement, Take This Thread / Le fil que je suis is a six-minute song written for massed choir, piano and violin by the young Vancouver composer Katerina Gimon, with a bilingual text from Montreal poet Lauren Peat.

Conceived by Mark Vuorinen, the artistic director of the Grand Philharmonic Choir from Waterloo, this virtual pan-Canadian project brings together over 160 choristers from five choirs from Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Quebec, whom we represent.
