A project that kept us united during this incredible winter! As a bonus: we have contributed to the creation of a new choral work, composed by two women. A rarity, especially in times of pandemic.

A pure product of the confinement, Take This Thread / Le fil que je suis is a six-minute song written for massed choir, piano and violin by the young Vancouver composer Katerina Gimon, with a bilingual text from Montreal poet Lauren Peat.

Conceived by Mark Vuorinen, the artistic director of the Grand Philharmonic Choir from Waterloo, this virtual pan-Canadian project brings together over 160 choristers from five choirs from Ontario, Alberta, Nova Scotia and Quebec, whom we represent.
