Our guest conductor for our upcoming concert, Un soir à l’opéra, is the very charismatic Julien Patenaude.
A 2022 graduate of the writing program of the École nationale de l’humour, Julien Patenaude began his training with the Petits Chanteurs du Mont-Royal and continued at the Conservatoire de musique de Montréal, the Université de Montréal, and the University of Toronto.
A passionate baritone, he co-founded the male vocal quartet Quartom in 2008, which has released no fewer than six albums and toured extensively in Canada, the United States, France, Belgium, and Taiwan.
Recently appointed Artistic and Musical Director of the Opéra bouffe du Québec, Julien is also the Executive Director of Arts et Spectacles de Laval. As a writer and comedic host, he has participated in several projects with various artists and ensembles, including Buzz Cuivres, Valérie Milot, the École de musique Vincent-d’Indy, Quartom, and the Opéra du Royaume.
Since 2015, he has also directed the Montreal Enharmonic Choir.
